Biñan has never been star-studded until a queer-safe barbershop stirred some news online: The Barbierro Barbershop, owned by a queer couple, Paul Sumayao and Jedi Directo. According to them, they built this barbershop to cancel discrimination, discomforting stares, and stereotypical questions that make queer children or teenagers feel awkward. They want to create a safe space where queers can grace their shop proud and fearless.

Like many barbershops, Barbierro offers traditional and contemporary haircuts, shampoo, blow-dry, shaving, dye and color services, shoulder and scalp massages, and rebond and hair spa services at affordable rates—from P170 (haircut) to P1,100 (hair coloring). All of their hairstylists and barbers undergo Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression (SOGIE) training so they know how to address clients adequately.
